The Alberta Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology (AET) has joined the Consortia Advancing Standards in Research Administration Information (CASRAI).

As a new CASRAI member, AET is pleased to support the continuing development of CASRAI's efforts in 2010 to standardize the semantics and format of research administration data.

Mr. Steve Vossos, Director of Research Capacity Planning in AET's Research and Innovation division, notes that "CASRAI's mandate to standardize research data will streamline the administration of common data elements, which will translate into direct benefits for the research community and stakeholders by minimizing administrative burdens and thereby freeing up time to focus on research."

"I'm very pleased to have the Alberta Ministry joining us," said David Baker, Executive Director of CASRAI, "and I look forward to their collaboration as we enhance researcher productivity."
