Esploro · Ex Libris (Clarivate)
Esploro (Ex Libris, a Clarivate company) is a cloud research-services platform combining a research repository with research-information-management capabilities. It captures research outputs, researcher profiles, projects, and grants, and emphasises automated capture — pulling publication metadata from external sources and the institution's own systems with minimal researcher effort. Esploro integrates ORCID for researcher identity and mints / registers DOIs and exposes metadata for harvesting, so the CASRAI Dictionary can supply shared contributor-role and output vocabulary across its asset records.
What to use from CASRAI
Touchpoints
- 01Researcher profiles linked to ORCID iDs for identity + automated output capture
- 02CRediT-style contributor roles configurable on research-asset records
- 03DOI registration (DataCite) for deposited datasets and outputs — CRediT can ride in the metadata
- 04OAI-PMH / metadata exposure for harvesting research-output records with contributor data
Setup
Integration steps
- 1Enable ORCID integration so researcher profiles carry the persistent identifier
- 2Configure contributor-role fields on research-asset templates to hold CRediT roles
- 3Load CASRAI Dictionary vocabulary into Esploro's configurable code tables / authority lists
- 4Ensure DOI minting via DataCite includes CRediT contributor roles in the deposited metadata
- 5Expose enriched records via OAI-PMH so downstream systems receive the contributor data
