Description

The ECF-10.8-C-40-E is a chest-format deep freezer for constant-temperature storage in laboratory, research, blood bank and pharmacy settings. The manufacturer’s main technical parameter table gives a cabinet volume of 305 L (10.8 cu ft), an operating temperature of -30 °C to -40 °C, a 110 V / 60 Hz supply, R290 refrigerant, and overall dimensions of 1218 x 840 x 940 mm. The cabinet has a lockable lid and castors.

Control and alarms

The digital panel displays the current internal temperature. The setpoint is changed by holding the up and down keys together for 10 seconds to unlock the controller, then pressing SET. The manual notes that the high and low temperature alarm values (AH and AL) should be adjusted at the same time as the setpoint, and that the alarm band is normally within ±5 °C of the set value.

Installation requirements

  • Indoor use only, on a fixed, level, non-combustible surface able to carry the loaded weight.
  • At least 30 cm clearance at the rear and both sides so the condenser can reject heat; air inlet and outlet must not be obstructed.
  • Transport upright or at no more than 45° of tilt, lifting from the base. Leave the unit standing for at least 12 hours after installation before powering it, so compressor oil returns.
  • A dedicated, correctly grounded supply as marked on the rating label, with an overload and leakage breaker fitted on the supply side.
  • The manufacturer states this is not explosion-proof equipment, and not flash-freezing equipment – it is intended to hold temperature, not to pull down a warm load quickly.

Supplied with

Operation manual, door handle, snow shovel, four screws and a screwdriver.

Frequently asked questions

What is the usable capacity?+

The manufacturer's parameter table gives 305 L, which corresponds to the 10.8 cu ft in the product name.

What temperature range does the manual specify?+

The main technical parameter table lists the operating temperature as -30 °C to -40 °C. High and low temperature alarm values are set alongside the setpoint and normally sit within ±5 °C of it.

What refrigerant and power supply does it use?+

R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant on a 110 V / 60 Hz supply. The manual requires a dedicated, properly grounded circuit matching the rating label, with an overload and leakage breaker on the supply side, and states the unit is not explosion-proof.

How much clearance does it need?+

At least 30 cm at the rear and on both sides, with the air inlet and outlet unobstructed, so the condenser can dissipate heat. Overall cabinet dimensions are 1218 x 840 x 940 mm, so plan the footprint with that clearance added.

Can it be powered up immediately after delivery?+

No. The manual requires the freezer to stand for at least 12 hours after installation so compressor oil returns to the compressor. It should also be transported upright or at no more than 45° of tilt and lifted from the base.

What is included in the box?+

The packing list is the operation manual, a door handle, a snow shovel, four screws and a screwdriver.
