Official statements

Press releases

Dictionary releases, federation news, standards milestones, and editorial-board statements. Each release is timestamped, archived, and linkable.

Press releases are reserved for announcements that change the public record: a dictionary release, a federation agreement, a standards adoption, a board appointment, or a formal editorial statement. The cadence is deliberately low. Where an item belongs in editorial commentary rather than the official record, it appears on the Perspectives page.

What you can expect here

  • Numbered dictionary releases and the editorial decisions behind them.
  • Joint statements with federation partners — NISO, euroCRIS, CODATA — when shared infrastructure changes hands.
  • Standards alignments — particularly with the formal ANSI/NISO Z39.104-2022 CRediT standard.
  • Board appointments and chair confirmations across the twenty working groups.
  • Editorial statements on contested matters where the federation has a duty to speak in one voice.

Archive convention

Releases are durable URLs. We do not retract; corrections appear as dated addenda on the original page. The model follows NISO press-release practice and the CRediT press archive.

Current status

The inaugural press release ships with the CASRAI Dictionary v2026.1 launch. Until then, this page sits empty by design — there is nothing official to report.

Coming with launch

v2026.1 ships with a coordinated announcement covering the dictionary release, the editorial protocol, and the working-group convening. Watch this page or subscribe to the quarterly newsletter.

Press contact

Journalists, editors, and communications staff should write to press@casrai.org. Brand assets, logos, and quotable lines sit at /resources/logos. Full press protocol — including the 24-hour response target — is documented at /contact/press.
