In stock

A 304 stainless condensing coil with a 6″ x 6″ x 10″ envelope and 1/2″ FNPT connections, supplied as SKU 6CC. The coil carries a service fluid through a continuous tube so vapour or liquid in contact with its outside surface is cooled or heated without the two streams mixing.

Description

A condensing coil in 304 stainless steel with a 6″ x 6″ x 10″ envelope and 1/2″ FNPT connections. The coil routes a heat-transfer fluid through a continuous tube; process vapour or liquid contacting the outside of the tube exchanges heat through the tube wall, with no mixing between the two streams.

Specification

  • Material: 304 stainless steel
  • Envelope: 6″ x 6″ x 10″
  • Connections: 1/2″ FNPT
  • SKU: 6CC

Our source data for 6CC does not record a weight, a pressure rating, a tube diameter or a coil surface area. Larger coils in the same range are documented with pressure ratings, but those figures belong to other part numbers and are not carried across. Ask us to obtain the manufacturer’s data for this SKU if your design depends on it.

Frequently asked questions

What are the connections?+

1/2" FNPT — female NPT, so a male fitting or hose barb screws into them.

What are the overall dimensions?+

6" x 6" x 10", per the manufacturer's designation for 6CC. A weight is not recorded in our source data for this part.

What is it made of?+

304 stainless steel.

What is the pressure rating?+

Not documented for 6CC in our source data. The 9" coil in the same range is published at 150 PSI, but that is a different part number and we are not applying its rating here. Request the figure for this SKU before using it under pressure.

When would I use a coil instead of a jacket?+

A coil is dropped into an existing vessel or bath, so it adds heating or cooling capacity without replacing the vessel. A jacket is integral to the vessel wall and has to be specified when the vessel is bought. Coils are the usual retrofit route.

Is a larger version available?+

A 10" condensing coil bucket in 304 stainless is stocked separately with 1/4", 1/2" and 1/2" compression port options.
