Street Elbow 45 Degrees 1/2" MNPT to 1/2" FNPT

in Elbows

$10.00

In stock

45° street elbow with a 1/2″ male NPT end and a 1/2″ female NPT end, allowing a direction change without an additional coupling. The male-female arrangement is what makes it a street elbow: it screws straight into a female port and presents a female port on the other side. Both threads are tapered NPT and need PTFE tape or a liquid sealant.

Description

45° street elbow, 1/2″ MNPT to 1/2″ FNPT.

A street elbow carries a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other. A standard elbow, with two female ends, needs a nipple or a male adapter to enter a female port; a street elbow does not. In a tight assembly that saves a joint, and every joint you remove is a joint that cannot leak.

The 45° angle is used where a 90° turn would be too abrupt for the routing or would add avoidable restriction. Two 45° elbows also let a line offset laterally and continue in its original direction, which is often the real reason they are specified.

Both ends are NPT tapered threads. They seal on the thread flanks, so both need PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant chosen for the media and temperature, kept back from the leading thread so it does not migrate into the line.

The source listing does not state the material of construction, pressure rating or temperature limits for this item, so we do not publish figures for those. Ask us before ordering if any of them are part of your specification.

Frequently asked questions

What are the two connections?+

1/2" male NPT on one end and 1/2" female NPT on the other, at 45°.

What is a street elbow?+

An elbow with one male and one female thread. It screws directly into a female port and presents a female port on the far side, removing the need for a separate nipple or male adapter and eliminating one joint from the assembly.

Why choose 45° over 90°?+

For routing that a right angle cannot make cleanly, and for lateral offsets - a pair of 45° elbows shifts a line sideways while keeping its original direction. A gentler turn also adds less restriction than a sharp one.

What material is it?+

The source listing does not state the material for this specific item and we will not infer it from similar products in the catalogue. If you need a documented alloy - 304 or 316 stainless, for example - ask us to confirm before ordering.

Do both ends need thread sealant?+

Yes. Both are tapered NPT threads that seal on the thread flanks, so both joints take PTFE tape or a liquid sealant compatible with your media and service temperature.

What pressure is it rated to?+

No pressure rating is given in the source listing, so we do not quote one. A rated system needs documented data for the specific part rather than an assumption based on size.
