Ducted Fume Hood
in Fume Hoods
$783.00 - $3,905.00
In stockPrice varies by Size.
Ducted fume hood in seven widths from 18 to 70 inches, supplied either as the bare hood for connection to an existing exhaust system (SS-218-E to SS-370-E) or with a matched inline fan on the 24 to 70 inch widths (SS-324-E-EF to SS-370-E-EF). Because it exhausts to atmosphere rather than recirculating, there is no filter media to match to the chemistry – but ductwork, termination and make-up air have to be designed into the installation.

Description
A ducted fume hood: contaminated air is drawn through the enclosure and exhausted rather than filtered and returned to the room. That is the correct specification where the chemistry is aggressive, poorly characterised, or where filter breakthrough could not be reliably detected – the trade-off is that the installation now includes ductwork, a termination and enough make-up air to replace what is being thrown away.
Configurations as listed
Hood only, for connection to an existing exhaust system:
- SS-218-E – 18 in.
- SS-324-E – 24 in.
- SS-330-E – 30 in.
- SS-340-E – 40 in.
- SS-350-E – 50 in.
- SS-360-E – 60 in.
- SS-370-E – 70 in.
Hood supplied with an inline fan (24 in. and above only):
- SS-324-E-EF, SS-330-E-EF, SS-340-E-EF, SS-350-E-EF, SS-360-E-EF, SS-370-E-EF
The 18 in. size is listed as hood only – there is no inline-fan variant at that width. Ductwork, dampers and the exterior termination are not part of any of these configurations.
Only the configuration data above is confirmed. Face velocity, exhaust collar diameter, fan capacity and electrical draw are not stated in the data we hold for this model and we have not inferred them. If your mechanical contractor needs those figures to size the duct run, ask us and we will obtain them from the manufacturer in writing.
Frequently asked questions
What widths are available?+
Seven: 18, 24, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 inches. The 24 inch and larger sizes are also offered with an inline fan, giving thirteen configurations in total.
Is a blower included?+
Only on the -EF variants. SS-218-E through SS-370-E are the hood alone, intended for connection to an existing building exhaust system. SS-324-E-EF through SS-370-E-EF are supplied with an inline fan. The 18 inch width is listed as hood only.
Is ductwork supplied?+
No. Duct, dampers, supports and the exterior termination are not part of any configuration on this listing, and their sizing depends on the fan selected and the length and geometry of the run. Have that designed before the hood is ordered, not after it arrives.
Should I specify a ducted or a ductless hood?+
Ducted, if the chemistry is aggressive or poorly characterised, if concentrations are high, or if you have no practical way to monitor filter breakthrough - exhausting to atmosphere removes the contaminant from the building entirely. Ductless, if you need the enclosure to be relocatable, the chemistry is well defined and low-hazard, and the building cannot easily accommodate a duct run and the make-up air it requires. The ductless models in this range are listed separately.
What has to be accounted for in the building services?+
A ducted hood removes conditioned air from the room, so the make-up air path and its effect on room pressure and neighbouring hoods should be checked as part of the design. Confirm face velocity against your institutional requirement at commissioning.

Deluxe Ductless Fume Hood - Front Controls w/ Variable speed controller & HC - UL Listed
Deluxe-series ductless fume hood with front-mounted controls and a variable-speed blower controller, in five widths from 30 to 70 inches (SS-330-DCH2 through SS-370-DCH2). It is built on the 300-series chassis, so it takes Model 300 HEPA, activated-carbon and acid-gas cartridges, ordered separately. Ductless operation returns filtered air to the room, which makes filter selection the critical specification decision rather than an afterthought.

Compact Benchtop Air Filtration System
