In stock

10 L digital heating mantle with PID temperature control to 300 °C and brushless-DC magnetic stirring to 2500 rpm. Rated 110–120 V, 2100 W, 19.1 A — the highest current draw in the HeatPro range on a 120 V supply, so check the branch circuit before installing. Auto-tune, over-temperature protection and probe-fault detection included.

Description

The HeatPro XHM-10L is a 10 L digital heating mantle with an integrated magnetic stirrer. Heating is PID-controlled with an auto-tune routine that can be re-run at the actual working temperature, stirrer speed, fluid type and fill volume, and the display carries the process value, the setpoint and the current stirrer rpm together.

At 2100 W the 10 L draws 19.1 A on a 110–120 V supply — materially more than the smaller mantles in the series and more than a standard 15 A branch circuit will carry continuously. Confirm the receptacle and circuit rating at the intended bench position before ordering.

Specifications

  • Capacity: 10 L
  • Maximum temperature: 300 °C
  • Maximum stirrer speed: 2500 rpm
  • Power: 110–120 V, 2100 W, 19.1 A
  • Stirrer motor: 24 V, 40 W brushless DC
  • Overall dimensions: 420 × 420 × 315 mm (16.5 × 16.5 × 12.4 in)
  • Gross weight: 48.5 lb

Control and protection

  • PID heater control with auto-tune / auto-calibration
  • Over-temperature protection
  • Temperature probe fault detection — alarm plus an Er-1 display code
  • Internal and external probe options, selected by swapping the external probe for the supplied jumper plug in the probe socket
  • Digital rpm display

Flask support

The documented stand assembly uses a vertical pole installed into the rear half of the mantle top, a boss clamp on the pole, and a finger clamp adjusted to centre on the flask neck.

Frequently asked questions

What electrical supply does the 10 L mantle need?+

110–120 V, 2100 W, 19.1 A. That is the highest draw in the HeatPro mantle range on a 120 V supply and exceeds what a standard 15 A branch circuit carries continuously, so the circuit and receptacle rating should be confirmed before installation.

What are the maximum temperature and stirring speed?+

300 °C and 2500 rpm, under PID control with an auto-tune routine that should be run at the intended working temperature, speed, fluid and fill volume.

What are the dimensions and shipping weight?+

420 × 420 × 315 mm (16.5 × 16.5 × 12.4 in), 48.5 lb gross.

Does it take an external temperature probe?+

Yes, and an internal sensor as well. The external probe plugs into the probe socket; swapping it for the jumper plug supplied in the accessories selects the internal sensor. A failed probe raises an alarm and an Er-1 display code.

Do I need a magnetic stir bar?+

Yes. The manual requires a magnetic stir bar in the flask and states that heating must not be run without the stirrer enabled.

How should it be shut down, and is heating noise normal?+

Disable heating first and leave the stirrer running until cooled — a minimum of 20 minutes per the manual. Creaking and cracking noises during heat-up are documented as normal for the 5 L, 10 L and 20 L sizes.
