20L HeatPro™ Digital Heating Mantle - 300°C 2500RPM - USA-XHM-20L

in Heating Mantles

$1,999.00

In stock

20 L digital heating mantle with PID temperature control to 300 °C and brushless-DC magnetic stirring to 2500 rpm. This is the only mantle in the HeatPro range on a 220–240 V supply — 3000 W, 13.6 A — so confirm the bench supply before ordering. Auto-tune, over-temperature protection and probe-fault detection included.

Description

The HeatPro XHM-20L is the largest mantle in the series, taking a 20 L round-bottom flask with integrated magnetic stirring. Heating is PID-controlled with an auto-tune routine that can be re-run at the actual working temperature, stirrer speed, fluid type and fill volume.

Unlike the 2 L, 5 L and 10 L models, which are 110–120 V units, the 20 L is rated 220–240 V at 3000 W and 13.6 A. This is the single most common specification error on this range — check the available supply at the intended bench position before ordering.

Specifications

  • Capacity: 20 L
  • Maximum temperature: 300 °C
  • Maximum stirrer speed: 2500 rpm
  • Power: 220–240 V, 3000 W, 13.6 A
  • Stirrer motor: 24 V, 40 W brushless DC
  • Overall dimensions: 494 × 494 × 315 mm (19.44 × 19.44 × 12.4 in)
  • Gross weight: 55 lb

Control and protection

  • PID heater control with auto-tune / auto-calibration
  • Over-temperature protection
  • Temperature probe fault detection — alarm plus an Er-1 display code
  • Internal and external probe options, selected by swapping the external probe for the supplied jumper plug in the probe socket
  • Digital rpm display

Flask support

The documented stand assembly uses a vertical pole installed into the rear half of the mantle top, a boss clamp on the pole, and a finger clamp adjusted to centre on the flask neck.

Frequently asked questions

What electrical supply does the 20 L mantle need?+

220–240 V, 3000 W, 13.6 A. It is the only capacity in the HeatPro mantle range specified on a 220–240 V supply; the 2 L, 5 L and 10 L models are 110–120 V.

What are the maximum temperature and stirring speed?+

300 °C and 2500 rpm, under PID control with an auto-tune routine that should be run at the intended working temperature, speed, fluid and fill volume.

What are the dimensions and shipping weight?+

494 × 494 × 315 mm (19.44 × 19.44 × 12.4 in), 55 lb gross.

Does it support an external temperature probe?+

Yes, and an internal sensor. The external probe plugs into the probe socket; replacing it with the jumper plug supplied in the accessories selects the internal sensor. A probe failure raises an alarm and an Er-1 display code.

How should it be shut down, and is heating noise normal?+

Disable heating first and leave the stirrer running until cooled — a minimum of 20 minutes per the manual. Creaking and cracking noises during heat-up are documented as normal for the 5 L, 10 L and 20 L sizes.

Is anything required before first use?+

A burn-in. Residual manufacturing oils in the glass-fibre bowl can smoke and discolour it on first heating. The documented procedure runs in a very well-ventilated area, starts at a 40 °C setpoint and steps up by 15 °C each time the setpoint is reached, up to 250 °C, then cools to room temperature.
