Ask a research-administration question

Answers are drawn from CASRAI and the rest of the CASRAI corpus, with a link to every source.

Answers are AI-generated from CASRAI’s own published pages and can be wrong, so check the linked sources before relying on one; your question is logged without personal data — never sold, never used to train a third-party model — to show us what CASRAI is missing, so please do not type personal or confidential details. 1L 300°C 1200 RPM Digital Magnetic Heating Mantle

in Heating Mantles

$159.00

In stock

1 L heating mantle with integrated magnetic stirring, rated to 300 °C and 1200 rpm, with digital setpoint control for both heat and stir speed. Magnetic-stirring mantles drive the flask contents with a stir bar, so a bar sized to the flask is needed in use.

Description

A 1 L heating mantle with integrated magnetic stirring, rated to 300 °C and 1200 rpm. Heat setpoint and stirrer speed are both set digitally rather than on analogue potentiometers, which makes a setpoint repeatable between runs and readable from across the bench.

Magnetic-stirring mantles agitate the contents with a stir bar dropped into the flask and driven by a rotating field beneath the bowl, so a magnetic stir bar sized to the flask is required in use.

Rated specifications

  • Flask capacity: 1 L
  • Maximum temperature: 300 °C
  • Maximum stirrer speed: 1200 rpm
  • Control: digital setpoint for heating and for stirring

Documentation held for this model

The manufacturer manual for this mantle series was not captured with the product record, so this page states only the rated figures above. Overall dimensions, electrical rating, net weight and packing-list contents are not documented in the source we hold and are therefore not stated here rather than estimated.

Frequently asked questions

What are the rated maximum temperature and stirring speed?+

300 °C and 1200 rpm.

What flask size does it take?+

1 L. Heating mantles are sized to the flask, so a mantle bowl only heats efficiently and evenly with a flask of its rated capacity seated in it.

Is a magnetic stir bar required?+

Yes. Stirring in a magnetic heating mantle is produced by a rotating field beneath the bowl acting on a stir bar in the flask, so a bar sized to the flask has to be in place for the stirring function to do anything.

How does this differ from the HeatPro XHM mantles?+

The HeatPro XHM series is rated to the same 300 °C but stirs to 2500 rpm rather than 1200 rpm, adds PID control with an auto-tune routine, over-temperature protection and probe-fault detection, and starts at 2 L. This model is the smaller, simpler digital mantle.

What electrical supply does it need?+

The manufacturer manual for this mantle series is not present in the documentation we hold for this product, so we do not publish a voltage, wattage or current figure for it here. Confirm the electrical rating against your intended bench supply before specifying this model.

What is included in the box?+

No packing list is published in the documentation we hold for this model. We would rather state that than guess at the accessory content. Confirm the contents before ordering if they matter to your specification.
