Description

****CALL FOR PRICING****
The innovative Multi Stage large chiller package provides all of the efficiency that comes with chillers outfitted with multiple compressors. Capacities ranging from 10 HP to 27 HP are sure to meet even the most chilling of demands. Every circuit is wired separately, giving each compressor equal run time over the life of the large chiller. These are designed to run on an as needed basis, which is ideal for applications with varying load requirements. The redundancy of multi-stage refrigeration circuits ensures that your process and production will never stop.

Frequently asked questions

What does the multi-stage arrangement actually buy me?+

Two complete refrigeration circuits, wired separately. The manufacturer's stated intent is that each compressor accumulates equal run time over the life of the unit, and that circuits stage on as needed rather than all running continuously — which suits a process with a varying load. The practical consequence is that a single circuit failure degrades capacity rather than stopping the process.

What cooling capacity does each model provide?+

At 90 °F ambient — GD-5x5H: 65,400 Btu/h (19.2 kW) at 20 °F, 82,200 (24.1 kW) at 30 °F, 101,200 (29.7 kW) at 40 °F. GD-7x7H: 83,400 Btu/h (24.4 kW) at 20 °F. GD-20H: 128,000 (37.5 kW) at 20 °F, 160,000 (46.9 kW) at 30 °F, 196,000 (57.4 kW) at 40 °F. GD-27H: 157,000 (46.0 kW) at 20 °F, 192,000 (56.3 kW) at 30 °F, 230,000 (67.4 kW) at 40 °F.

Are the reservoirs stainless steel on every model?+

No, and it is worth checking against your fluid. The GD-5x5H and GD-7x7H use a 115 gallon insulated stainless steel glycol reservoir. The GD-20H and GD-27H use a 230 gallon insulated crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) reservoir. Connection size also differs: 1.5 in FPT on the two smaller models, 2 in CTS flange on the two larger ones.

What flow rates and pumps are fitted?+

GD-5x5H: 40 GPM at 25 PSI from a 1.5 HP glycol pump. GD-7x7H: 65 GPM at 25 PSI from a 2 HP glycol pump. GD-20H and GD-27H: 150 GPM at 25 PSI from a 5 HP process pump, plus a separate 1.5 HP chiller pump. The spec sheets note that a VFD is available on request.

What is included in the package?+

Per the spec sheets: two complete refrigeration circuits, an air-cooled microchannel condenser, glycol pump, fluid bypass valve, freeze-stat safety switch, insulated copper piping, an engineered high-efficiency heat exchanger, an insulated reservoir, brass ball valves on the supply and return glycol connections, an ETL (UL508) listed control panel with single-point electrical connection, breakers, starters and safety switches, louvered aluminium access panels, and a powder-coated steel frame with powder-coated aluminium housing. Units are factory run tested and shipped fully charged.

What space, weight and electrical service should I plan for?+

GD-5x5H and GD-7x7H: 48 in W × 89 in L × 66 in H, around 1,800–1,850 lb shipping and 2,400–2,450 lb operating, at 65 dBA measured at 10 ft. GD-20H and GD-27H: 48 in W × 120 in L × 87 in H, around 2,450–2,500 lb shipping and 4,450–4,500 lb operating, at 68–70 dBA. All are three-phase with a NEMA 3R electrical enclosure; take MCA and MOC from the specific model sheet — the GD-27H, for example, is 129 MCA / 175 MOC at 208–240 V 3-phase and 69 / 91 at 460–480 V 3-phase.
