Dr. Mahesh Kumar Gaur is a Principal Scientist at ICARu2013Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur, India, specialising in satellite remote sensing, GIS, geospatial technologies, and natural resource management in hot and cold arid ecosystems. He has extensive experience in interdisciplinary research, academic leadership, and international scientific collaboration, with over 200 scholarly contributions, including research papers, book chapters, conference papers, and books. He has undertaken research assignments supported by ICAR, ISRO, UGC, and ICARDA and contributed to India's National Landslide Risk Management Strategy. His scientific contributions have received national and international recognition, including from the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR).
