Editorial commentary
ORCID’s Peer Review section exists specifically to give reviewers verifiable credit for review activity that is otherwise invisible on a CV — but, unlike most other ORCID record sections, it is deliberately not self-enterable.
How a record gets added
Per ORCID’s own integration documentation: “Peer review items can only be added by the API; the user is not able to enter new items in this section.” A trusted organization — the journal, publisher, funder, or an authorized third-party recognition service — pushes the entry via the ORCID Member API, and only after the reviewer signs in to ORCID and explicitly authorizes that organization to write to their record.
What the record contains

Can I add a peer review I did to my own ORCID record?
Not directly — only the convening organization (via the ORCID Member API, with your authorization) can add it. If a journal you reviewed for doesn’t push ORCID records, ask its editorial office whether it supports this, or whether it works with a recognition service that does.
Does a Peer Review record reveal what I wrote in the review?
No — the record documents that a review occurred (organization, type, date), not its content, which keeps it compatible with single- and double-anonymous review processes.
