CASRAI is community-stewarded. Working groups, term proposals, translations, editorial review — the work happens through volunteer contribution.
CASRAI stewards CRediT (the Contributor Roles Taxonomy, ANSI/NISO Z39.104-2022) and the CASRAI Dictionary — 1,242 terms across 24 domains — as open, community-maintained research-administration standards. Every route below is a way to shape that work directly, whether through a working group, a term proposal, a translation, or editorial review.
Institutional membership
Universities, research councils, publishers, and infrastructure orgs can become formal members.
Join a working group
Twenty working groups, one per dictionary domain. Anyone can join.
Propose a term
Working groups review proposals every release cycle. Contributors get credit.
Translate the dictionary
CC-BY 4.0 explicitly invites translations. Language committees convene on demand.
Open consultations
Comment on draft entries during their public-review window. Phase 5.
Volunteer
General volunteering: editorial review, documentation, advocacy, code contributions.
Newsletter
Monthly editorial digest. Working-group updates, dictionary changelog, perspectives.
