If you already know you want GravityZone, the pricing question is simple to ask and surprisingly hard to answer from Bitdefender’s own site: there is no published per-endpoint list price for the business tiers most research institutions actually buy. This guide covers the tier structure, what institutions are actually reporting as typical cost ranges, how the quoting process works once you’re past the marketing page, and where GravityZone’s own pricing model works against a small lab with no dedicated IT security staff.

The GravityZone tier structure, briefly

Bitdefender GravityZone is sold as three ascending business tiers built on the same detection engine, plus a mid-market bundle Bitdefender now markets separately:

  • GravityZone Business Security — prevention-focused endpoint protection: antimalware, firewall, patch management, device control. Bitdefender’s own positioning is explicit that this tier is meant to run “without dedicated security expertise,” which is the segment most small research groups and labs sit in.
  • GravityZone Business Security Premium — adds EDR: recorded endpoint telemetry, an exportable incident timeline, and risk analytics across the estate. This is the tier a cyber-insurer, a funder’s data-security schedule, or a CMMC assessor is usually actually asking for.
  • GravityZone Business Security Enterprise — adds XDR (cross-signal correlation beyond the endpoint) and is aimed at organizations large enough to have someone actually triaging that output day to day.

As of this writing, Bitdefender’s current business marketing groups the EDR/XDR-capable tiers for larger deployments (roughly 500-5,000 seats) under a consolidated “GravityZone Platform” bundle rather than selling Premium/Enterprise as standalone SKUs at that scale — the underlying capability split (prevention vs. EDR vs. XDR) is the same, the packaging language around it has just shifted. For a full feature-by-feature comparison of Business Security vs. Premium — what EDR actually buys you and when the upgrade is worth it — see our companion guide, Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security vs Premium. This page’s job is the buy/pricing decision, not the feature breakdown.

What GravityZone actually costs

The single most important fact to know before you go looking for a price list: Bitdefender does not publish a per-device list price for the GravityZone business tiers. The figure is generated at checkout once you enter your actual endpoint count, and it steps down as you cross volume bands — a 250-endpoint institute pays a materially lower per-seat rate than a 25-endpoint lab quoted the same tier. There is no static “$X/endpoint” page to screenshot, and that’s true whether you’re buying direct or asking a reseller.

That said, third-party pricing trackers that monitor Bitdefender’s checkout pricing over time (SelectHub, ITQlick, Softabase and Tekpon all publish figures, checked August 2026) report list prices in roughly this range for small package sizes — treat these as directional, aggregator-reported figures, not a Bitdefender-confirmed price list, since none of these sites carry a citable, dated primary source and some aggregator figures for this product have been stale in the past:

  • GravityZone Business Security (Small Business tier, up to ~30 endpoints): roughly $55-60 per device per year at list, before promotional discounts.
  • GravityZone Business Security (standard tier): roughly $70-80 per device per year at list.
  • GravityZone Business Security Premium (adds EDR): roughly $85-96 per device per year at list.
  • GravityZone Business Security Enterprise / Platform (adds XDR): not publicly listed by any tracker — sales-quoted only, and the gap between “Premium reported price” and “Enterprise actual price” can be substantial.

Aggregators also consistently report that Bitdefender runs first-term promotional discounts (commonly cited around 30% off list for a first annual term) and separate multi-year discounts. Neither of those is something CASRAI can verify as currently active — promotions change without notice — so confirm the live discount at checkout rather than assuming a reported number still applies.

How institutional quoting actually works

For a lab, department, or institution, the practical purchase path looks like this:

  1. Pick a tier based on what you actually need to demonstrate — prevention alone (Business Security) is enough for most low-risk labs; EDR (Premium) is the tier to reach for the moment a funder, insurer, or compliance framework asks for incident evidence, not just protection.
  2. Enter your real endpoint count at checkout or via a sales quote request. Pricing steps down at volume bands, so quoting for your actual current count (not a round guess) matters — under-quoting means a mid-term true-up, over-quoting wastes budget.
  3. Decide on term length — annual vs. multi-year — since multi-year commitments are where most of the discount sits, at the cost of locking in before you’ve lived with the tool.
  4. For anything past a few hundred endpoints, or for the Enterprise/Platform tier, expect a sales conversation rather than a self-serve checkout price. This is normal for the category — it is not unique to Bitdefender (SentinelOne and CrowdStrike both work the same way) — but it does mean “GravityZone pricing” is never fully transparent the way a SaaS subscription page usually is.

Where GravityZone’s pricing model works against a small lab

Be plain about the tradeoff, because it’s a real one: GravityZone’s quote-based, tier-and-endpoint-count pricing is built for organizations with someone whose job includes managing a security vendor relationship — negotiating the quote, tracking the renewal, deciding when an EDR upgrade is justified. A small research group or single department with no dedicated IT security staff will find that overhead disproportionate to what they’re protecting.

Two honest signals that GravityZone is the wrong fit right now, not just an expensive one:

  • You have fewer than a handful of endpoints and no compliance driver. If nothing in your funding terms, IRB/data-use agreement, or institutional policy actually requires demonstrable EDR, a simpler consumer-grade or bundled endpoint tool (or what your parent institution’s central IT already licenses) is very likely more cost-effective than standing up a separate GravityZone contract for a handful of machines. Check our endpoint security guide for research groups and small institutions before assuming GravityZone is the default answer.
  • You’re being sold Premium or Enterprise/Platform tier EDR/XDR with nobody to read the output. Recorded telemetry and an incident timeline are only valuable if someone actually reviews alerts and triages the exported timeline when something fires. If that’s not a real role in your group, the prevention-only Business Security tier — or a managed option where a vendor’s SOC does that triage for you (see our managed EDR comparison for institutions with no SOC) — is a better match than paying for XDR you won’t operate.

None of this is an argument against GravityZone generally — its detection engine is a consistent, independently-tested performer at every tier, which is exactly why the CASRAI review team keeps it in the buy conversation. It’s an argument for matching the tier and quoting effort to your actual size and actual compliance obligation, not the other way around.

How to get a quote or start a trial

If you’ve decided GravityZone is the right tier for your situation, the path to actually buying is straightforward:

  1. Start with a free trial rather than a quote request if you’re not yet certain which tier you need — Bitdefender’s business trial program lets you run the console against your real endpoint count before any purchase conversation starts.
  2. Request pricing with your real endpoint count, not a placeholder number, so the quote you get reflects the volume band you’ll actually land in.
  3. Ask specifically whether EDR (Premium) or XDR (Enterprise/Platform) is included or add-on at the endpoint count and term you’re quoting — tier boundaries and what’s bundled at each size have shifted in Bitdefender’s own marketing, so don’t assume the feature set from an older comparison still matches the current SKU.
  4. Confirm the current promotional discount and whether it applies to your term length before treating any reported list price as your real cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bitdefender publish a public price list for GravityZone?

No. The business tiers (Business Security, Business Security Premium, Business Security Enterprise) are priced at checkout against your endpoint count, with volume-based step-downs. Third-party trackers report approximate per-device figures, but there’s no official static price sheet to point to.

How much does Bitdefender GravityZone cost per endpoint?

Aggregator-reported figures as of August 2026 put prevention-only Business Security in roughly the $55-80/device/year range depending on package size, and Business Security Premium (with EDR) in roughly the $85-96/device/year range at list, before any first-term promotional discount. These are third-party reported ranges, not a Bitdefender-confirmed figure — get an actual quote at your endpoint count before budgeting against them.

What’s the difference between Business Security and Business Security Premium?

Premium adds EDR — recorded endpoint telemetry, an exportable incident timeline, and cross-estate risk analytics. See our full Business Security vs Premium comparison for the complete feature breakdown and when the upgrade is worth it.

Can I try GravityZone before buying?

Yes — Bitdefender offers a free trial of its business products that runs against your real environment, which is the recommended first step if you’re unsure which tier fits before requesting a quote.

Is GravityZone overkill for a small research lab?

It can be, specifically at the EDR/XDR tiers, if nobody in your group will actually be reviewing the telemetry it produces. A lab with no compliance driver and no one to triage alerts is often better served by a simpler tool or a managed option where the triage is done for you — see the honest-tradeoff section above.

Is Bitdefender a Russian company, and does that matter for procurement?

No — this is a persistent misconception. See our dedicated page, Is Bitdefender a Russian Company? No — Here’s Where It’s Actually Based, for the sourced answer if this comes up in a procurement review.
