Use a database’s “peer-reviewed” or “refereed” limiter

Most academic library databases (EBSCOhost, ProQuest, JSTOR, and discipline-specific platforms like PsycINFO or ERIC) let you restrict results to peer-reviewed content with a checkbox in the advanced-search or filter panel. Google Scholar indexes a much broader mix of content than a curated database — preprints, theses, working papers, and non-peer-reviewed reports appear alongside peer-reviewed journal articles, with no filter to separate them.
