  • Academic depth, or a credential that stacks toward a degree. A university graduate certificate (UGA, Loyola, USC, Johns Hopkins, or an equivalent program) fits better if the goal is graduate-level academic credit, especially if it can later apply toward a related master’s degree at the same institution.
  • A credential explicitly tied to the field’s own professional body.
