Description

The DYS Series is the most economical indoor booth in this range. It is a C1D1 classified enclosure supplied with the gas detection and safety systems the classification requires, together with high-efficiency filtration, in four fixed footprints.

Footprints as listed

  • DYS8 – 8 ft W x 9 ft H x 8 ft L
  • DYS10 – 10 ft W x 9 ft H x 10 ft L
  • DYS20 – 10 ft W x 9 ft H x 20 ft L
  • DYS30 – 10 ft W x 9 ft H x 30 ft L

All four builds are 9 ft high internally, so the clear ceiling height of the receiving space – after allowing for services above the booth – is the first thing to check.

Area classification and occupancy approval rest with your local authority having jurisdiction. Confirm what engineering documentation and gas detection certification is included with your configuration before ordering, and check it against what your AHJ will require for the submittal.

Frequently asked questions

What footprints are available?+

Four: DYS8 at 8 ft wide x 9 ft high x 8 ft long, and DYS10, DYS20 and DYS30 at 10 ft wide x 9 ft high with lengths of 10, 20 and 30 ft respectively.

What is included?+

The booth is supplied with gas detection, the series' standard safety features and high-efficiency filtration. Extraction equipment itself is not part of the booth. Confirm the exact scope in writing against your configuration before ordering, because it is the boundary between the booth package and your own mechanical and electrical works that most often causes delay.

What does C1D1 mean?+

Class I, Division 1 is a National Electrical Code hazardous-area classification covering locations where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases or vapours exist under normal operating conditions. It governs the electrical equipment, wiring methods, ventilation and gas detection required in the space.

How does this compare with the other indoor booths in the range?+

DYS is the economy tier. The Micro Series is smaller in depth (3, 6 or 8 ft) at 10 ft wide by 9 ft high; Mega Economy and Mega Deluxe step up to 10 ft internal height and longer runs; EXXA is 20 ft wide by 10 ft high; and ZETA is 16 ft wide by 14 ft high. Compare the dimension tables against your clear ceiling height and equipment layout, since internal height is usually the binding constraint.

What do we need for permitting?+

Area classification and occupancy sign-off are decided by your local authority having jurisdiction. Establish before ordering which drawings, calculations and certifications come with the booth and which your own engineer must produce - that package normally determines the project schedule rather than the equipment itself.
