Frequently asked questions

What is the material capacity per run?+

3 lb of trim, or 5 lb of milled material, in a 6" x 24" column with sight glasses. The system is rated to process up to 15 lb of material over an eight-hour day.

Which solvent is it designed for?+

Pure butane. The 50 lb ASME solvent tank holds 24 lb of butane. Each vessel carries a 1/4" MJIC line for nitrogen and 100 psi cryogenic pressure relief valves are fitted.

What is in the base packing list?+

One 50 lb ASME solvent tank, one 6" x 36" collection tank, one 6" x 24" material column, one 4" x 12" CRC with a 5 micron disc, one 3" x 12" sieve, one 10" x 10" condensing coil and one 24" x 24" x 59" aluminum rack.

What does the turnkey configuration add?+

A UL listed 5 CFM UVP-5 corrosion-resistant two-stage vacuum pump, a 200°C 30 L recirculating heater (RH-30L), a -40°C 20 L recirculating chiller (UC-20/40) and a 6 CFM recovery pump, included with the Active system.

What are the chiller's specifications and power requirements?+

The UC-20/40 has a 20 L reservoir, runs from room temperature down to -40°C with ±0.5°C accuracy, and needs 220-240 V, 60 Hz, 20 A single phase at 1,800 W. Refrigeration capacity is 3,300-12,400 BTU on R404, pump flow 30 L/min at 2.2 bar through 5/8" barbs. It measures 24.8" x 20.8" x 43.3" and weighs 164 lbs. The -40°C figure is tested under empty load.

How does it differ from the 5 lb system in the same series?+

The 3 lb unit uses a shorter 6" x 24" column against 6" x 48", a 4" x 12" CRC against 6" x 12", a 15.5 L collection vessel against 37.42 L and a 50 lb solvent tank against 200 lb. It is 250 lbs against 550 lbs.
