All Wellcome-funded research must be published immediately open-access under a CC BY licence. Aligned with Plan S.

All Wellcome-funded researchers must have an ORCID iD linked to their Wellcome funding profile.

Narrative CV (R4RI)

2021

Wellcome adopted the Royal Society / Resume for Research and Innovation narrative-CV format for fellowship applications.

CRediT on publications

CRediT statements required on Wellcome Open Research articles; encouraged for all Wellcome-funded outputs.

Is the narrative CV mandatory for Wellcome?+

For most fellowship schemes, yes - using the R4RI format. Project-grant CVs follow a more traditional structured format. Check the specific call.

Does Wellcome accept manuscripts published in paywalled journals?+

Only if a CC BY version is simultaneously deposited in PMC or Europe PMC. Hybrid OA is not Plan S compliant.
