Transfer-Protocol Honesty: What Home Birth Cannot Provide On-Site

  • Honest prenatal informed consent about exactly what “planned home birth” does and doesn’t include: a stocked kit for managing the common complications of a normal birth, and a fast, rehearsed exit for the ones it doesn’t — not an at-home substitute for hospital-level emergency obstetric or neonatal care.

Home Birth vs. Freestanding Birth Center: The Setting Distinction
