A single catalogue of every release across the CASRAI Dictionary, the CRediT taxonomy, and the sibling vocabularies CASRAI federates with. Current state, version history, and the next planned release for each line.
How to read this catalogue
CASRAI publishes some standards itself (the Dictionary) and federates with stewards on others (CRediT at NISO, the Catalogue of Elements at euroCRIS, the RDM Terminology at CODATA). This page lists releases across all of those lines in a single place. For each line, the steward column tells you where the canonical version lives; the linked release page tells you what shipped. This is the catalogue equivalent of a release dashboard, not a substitute for the stewards' own publication channels.
CASRAI Dictionary
The Dictionary is the CASRAI-stewarded vocabulary, released twice yearly under CC-BY 4.0. Versioning isvYYYY.N (year-dot-number-within-year). See the versioning policy and the Dictionary releases index for the full release history and the per-release changelog at /dictionary/changelog.

CRediT — Contributor Roles Taxonomy
CRediT is stewarded by NISO as ANSI/NISO Z39.104-2022, approved by ANSI on 14 January 2022 and published on 8 February 2022. CRediT remains at Z39.104-2022 as of v2026.1 of the CASRAI Dictionary; the NISO CRediT Standing Committee is the source of truth for the next revision. Catalogue of Elements
The Catalogue of Elements is stewarded by euroCRIS as a CERIF enrichment, maintained in the EuroCRIS/CASRAI-DictionariesGitHub repository. Release cadence and tagging follow the euroCRIS publication schedule for CERIF profiles. The CASRAI Dictionary cross-references catalogue elements where they appear in scope; the euroCRIS repository is the canonical artefact.
Research Data Management Terminology
The RDM Terminology (formerly the IRiDiuM glossary) is stewarded by CODATA through a voluntary expert working group. Updates are publicised through CODATA's working-group page and reflected in CASRAI Dictionary cross-references at the next twice-yearly Dictionary release.
Sibling vocabularies (future lines)
Several sibling vocabularies are anticipated in the standards roadmap — including discipline-specific CRediT extensions, an acknowledged-contributor extension, peer-review credit, and the Contributor Role Ontology (CRO) alignment. Where CASRAI takes editorial responsibility for a sibling line, it will be added to this catalogue with its own versioning sequence. Where the work is led by another body, the entry will be a cross-reference.
Conventions used in this catalogue
- Current — the active version for production use.
- Superseded — replaced by a later version; the URL still resolves under our versioning policy.
- Deprecated — formally retired with a replacement pointer; logged on the deprecations page.
- Planned — scheduled future release with a target date.
- In development — working drafts in progress at the steward.
