Editorial commentary
Under the EU AI Act, high-risk AI systems must undergo conformity assessment before placement on the EU market and CE marking. Conformity may be self-assessed for some annex-listed categories and requires third-party notified-body assessment for others. The corresponding harmonised standards are being developed by CEN-CENELEC JTC 21.
