Editorial commentary

Knowledge mobilisation (KMb) is the term preferred in Canadian social-science and humanities contexts (notably SSHRC's KMb framework) and in UK education research (e.g. EEF, Research Schools Network). KMb emphasises multi-directional flow of knowledge between researchers and non-academic actors, includes both 'push' and 'pull' approaches, and recognises that knowledge mobilisation often requires intermediary roles (brokers, boundary spanners). It is conceptually broader than knowledge translation, encompassing humanities and arts-based outputs as well as evidence.
