Is OSF the same thing as "Open Science Foundation"?+
No — that name doesn't exist as an organization. The platform is the Open Science Framework (OSF); it is built and run by the Center for Open Science (COS), a differently-named nonprofit. This is a common mix-up.
Does arXiv's spin-out from Cornell change how researchers submit or access papers?+
As of the July 1, 2026 transition, arXiv and Cornell have described no user-facing changes — submission, access, and endorsement processes continue as before; the change is organizational and financial rather than functional.
Which one assigns a "real" DOI?+
