Editorial commentary
Curated org records are the unit of work for ROR Curation. Each record reflects the community’s best representation of an organisation at a point in time. The record is updated as the organisation changes; the identifier is never reissued. This separation of ‘identifier stability’ from ‘metadata mutability’ is a deliberate design feature of ROR (and of well-run identifier registries generally).
