CASRAI Certification
Structured, examined credentials for the people who run research: coordinators, data managers, security officers, grant writers and contributorship stewards. Every syllabus, exam blueprint and pass score is published in full before you pay anything.
Certifying authority
CASRAI has set the vocabulary research administration runs on for over a decade. These credentials examine it.
CASRAI assumed leadership of the CRediT contributor-roles taxonomy in 2014 and carried it through to its adoption as ANSI/NISO Z39.104-2022 — the standard publishers, funders and institutions now use to record who did what on a piece of research. The syllabus you sit is drawn from that work and from the reporting standards CASRAI maintains alongside it.
The certification programme is academically and medically directed by Dr. Diana Nieves Castro, MD, Programme Director, who signs every credential it issues. Each syllabus, blueprint and pass mark is set under her direction and published in full before you pay.
That its holder passed the CASRAI examination for the named course on the date shown, scored against the published blueprint and pass mark — and that anyone can verify it, permanently, from the code on its face.
6 credentials
Each credential runs as a ladder. Foundation establishes the vocabulary, the obligations and the documentary trail; Professional assumes them and examines judgement under the conditions the role is actually performed in. Pick the level that matches the work you already do.

The process
Four steps, no interviews, no logbooks, no sponsor sign-off.
Step 01
Read the full syllabus, learning outcomes and exam blueprint on the credential's page. Nothing is hidden behind the paywall except the lesson bodies themselves.
Step 02
Self-paced modules with stated nominal hours. Your progress is tracked lesson by lesson and there is no expiry on access once you are enrolled.
Step 03
A closed-book multiple-choice form drawn fresh to the published domain weights, scored immediately against the published pass mark, with a rationale shown for every item.
Step 04
Passing candidates are issued a certificate carrying a verification code. Anyone can check that code on our public verification page — no account, no request to us.
Retakes are permitted after a cooling-off period stated on each credential’s page. Every form is assembled to the published blueprint or it is not assembled at all — where a domain cannot yet be sampled to that standard, the exam declines to run rather than issue an unbalanced paper. Course access is never affected.
Checking someone’s credential?
Every CASRAI certificate carries a verification code. Enter it on our public verification page to see the holder, the credential and the date of issue. Verification is free, requires no account, and works for anyone.
