Editorial commentary
Final reports are required under most sponsor terms and typically due 60 to 120 days after the project end. They include the final technical narrative, comparison of achievements against the original aims, complete deliverable list, publication and dataset list, IP disclosures, final financial statement (cumulative expenditure, residual returns), and (where applicable) sustainability and follow-on plans. Late or missing final reports can affect future-funding eligibility. Many sponsors publish final report summaries.
