If you need a doctor in Condado, the nearest ER is Ashford Presbyterian at 1451 Ashford Avenue, which says it runs separate adult and pediatric emergency rooms around the clock. For something common, like flu, a UTI or sunburn, Dr. Diana Nieves Castro, MD, can see you by video from your hotel for US$79 while you are physically in Puerto Rico. In an emergency, call 911.

The emergency room in Condado: Ashford Presbyterian ("El Presby")

Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital is at 1451 Ashford Ave, San Juan, PR 00907, on the same avenue as the hotels. Phone 787-721-2160; ER extensions 1095, 1096, 1097 and 1098. The hospital says its ER is open 24/7 with separate adult and pediatric areas.

Ashford describes itself as the official emergency provider for SJU airport, the cruise terminals, the Convention Center and metro-area hotels, and the San Juan Cruise Port's contact page lists it as the port's hospital. It is not affiliated with us. If someone can't walk unaided, has chest pain or is struggling to breathe, don't walk them down the avenue: call 911.

Is there a 24-hour pharmacy in Condado? The store yes, the counter no

Two shops on Ashford Avenue stay open all night, but neither has its pharmacy counter open at that hour. From the Walgreens and Farmacias Caridad locators:

  • Walgreens, 1130 Ashford Ave, PR 00907, 787-721-7895. Store: 24 hours. Pharmacy counter: not 24 hours; opens 8 a.m.
  • Farmacia Caridad Condado, 1307 Ashford Ave, 787-289-2510. Shop floor: 24 hours. Pharmacy counter: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Sun 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Walgreens, 700 Ave Roberto H Todd, 787-945-7710, 0.6 miles away per the locator: counter opens 8 a.m., not 24 hours.

To fill a prescription in the small hours you have to leave Condado: the nearest counter we verified as open 24 hours is Walgreens, 2505 Carr 841, Guaynabo (787-287-0528), which closes 1:30–2 a.m. for a meal break. Call before you set off.

Urgent care in Condado: none we could verify

We found no walk-in urgent care clinic or CDT inside Condado with an address and hours confirmed by a primary source, so we list none. To the south, Hospital Pavía Santurce (Calle Prof. Augusto Rodríguez #1462, 787-641-1616) takes adults only, 24 hours. To the east, Hospital UPR Dr. Federico Trilla (Route 3 km 8.3, Carolina, 787-757-1800) runs a 24-hour ER with a pediatric area. An upset stomach after days of eating out

According to the CDC, bacterial travelers' diarrhea usually lasts 3 to 7 days untreated and viral diarrhea 2 to 3 days; staying hydrated matters most, and oral rehydration solutions help. Before you swim off the hotel beach, check the National Weather Service beach forecast for the day's rip-current risk.
