Is there a 24-hour pharmacy in Ocean Park? The Calle Loíza Walgreens

The neighborhood pharmacy is Walgreens, 1963 Calle Loíza, San Juan, PR 00911, 787-728-0033. Per the Walgreens locator the store is open 24 hours, but the pharmacy counter is not: it opens at 9 a.m. We could not confirm when the counter closes at night; call ahead.

In the small hours, the nearest counter we verified as open is not on Calle Loíza but in Guaynabo: Walgreens, 2505 Carr 841 (787-287-0528), with a 1:30–2 a.m. break. In a rental with no car? Ask the pharmacy about pickup or delivery before you need a prescription filled.

Kitesurfing in Punta Las Marías: telehealth or the ER?

Punta Las Marías is a kitesurfing, windsurfing and paddleboarding spot. By video, the doctor can look at a scrape or small cut that looks red a few days later, a sunburn, or ear pain after swimming (swimmer's ear). A head knock with confusion or vomiting, a possible broken bone, a deep cut that won't stop bleeding, or someone who swallowed a lot of water are not video problems: those are the ER or 911.

A doctor in Ocean Park for residents and rental guests

Ocean Park and Punta Las Marías are residential beachfront neighborhoods with guesthouses and short-term rentals rather than hotels with a house doctor. The usual need is a resident with a fever on a Sunday, or a guest with no car.

Living here year-round means living with the dengue mosquito. San Juan municipality reported 41 cases in weeks 1–37 of 2026, according to the Puerto Rico Department of Health weekly report (week 37, published 2026-09-23). The CDC recommends DEET repellent and air-conditioned or screened rooms; tip out standing water in pots, buckets and old tires.
