Online skin care in Puerto Rico: acne, rashes, fungal infections and more
Our online skin care in Puerto Rico is a video visit with Dr. Diana Nieves Castro, MD, a physician licensed in Puerto Rico, for acne, rashes, eczema, fungal infections, cold sores and other common skin problems. You show your skin on camera or send photos, and the doctor evaluates, diagnoses and treats. If appropriate, the doctor prescribes and we send your prescription to your pharmacy.

If the clinic can't see you, for example because of a technical problem on our side, we refund you in full.

Is this an emergency?
This is not an emergency service. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if you have:
- A rash with fever that spreads fast, or spots that don't fade when you press a glass against them.
- Blisters or peeling skin over large areas, especially with sores in the mouth or eyes.
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or trouble breathing.
- A red, hot, painful area that keeps growing, with fever, spreading red streaks or blisters.

What online skin care in Puerto Rico is
Skin is well suited to video care: most of what the doctor needs is a good look. You see Dr. Diana Nieves Castro, MD, a general practice physician licensed in Puerto Rico with several years of emergency-department experience, in English or Spanish.

How we care for you by video
Show your skin on camera in good light, or send photos through our secure portal. The doctor asks when it started, whether it itches or hurts, what you've put on it and whether anyone else at home has it. From there she evaluates, diagnoses and treats.
If appropriate, the doctor prescribes and we send your prescription to your pharmacy: a cream, a gel or a medicine by mouth, for example. If a test is needed, she gives you a lab order for a lab near you.

Skin problems we treat
The most common ones, in adults and kids:
- Acne in teens and adults. More on acne treatment.
- Rashes: hives, heat rash, reactions to something you touched. See skin rash and, for kids, rash in children.
- Eczema and dermatitis: dry, red, itchy skin. More on eczema treatment.
- Fungal infections: ringworm, athlete's foot and jock itch.

- [Insect bites](route:condition-bug-bites) and sunburn.
- [Mild skin infections](route:condition-skin-infection), such as redness around a cut.
- Patches and plaques: psoriasis (thick red patches with scales), vitiligo (white patches), seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff and flaky scales on the scalp or face), pityriasis rosea (starts with one large patch) and acanthosis nigricans (dark, velvety skin on the neck or armpits).
- Bumps and spots: rosacea (facial redness and pimples), warts, molluscum contagiosum (small bumps with a dimple in the center, common in kids), boils and an ingrown toenail.

Treatment, and when we order a lab test
Many skin problems are diagnosed by looking at them. According to MedlinePlus (NIH), over-the-counter creams clear many fungal infections while others need a prescription, and antiviral medicines can help cold sores heal faster. Acne has treatments you put on the skin and treatments by mouth, depending on its type and severity.
If the doctor needs to confirm something, such as an infection or a problem affecting the whole body, she gives you a lab order. When a case calls for a skin specialist or an in-person procedure, the doctor tells you and helps with the next step.
When to go to the ER
For your safety, if you have any of the warning signs on this page, such as a rash with fever that spreads fast or a swollen face and lips, call 911 or go to the emergency room.

We see adults and children of all ages. Patients under 21: a parent with patria potestad (parental authority) or a legal guardian is on camera for the whole visit and shows photo ID.
